I believe that there is only one true God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
I believe that the Bible is the very Word of God as stated in 2 Timothy 3:16-17: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” I am so thankful that God has given His Word to us! It reveals so much about His love, justice, character, and basics about who He is. It gives us direction and helps us discern what is right and wrong. God is so good to have given us His Word.
I believe that all men are sinful and are separated from God. Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Men can only stand before God through the receiving of the gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in or trespasses made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—ad raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:4-9, ESV
I believe that God is Holy and the only One worthy of all the honor, glory, and praise. No man can ever fathom the Greatness of God. “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?’ ‘Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?’ For from him and through him and to are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” (Romans 11:33-36)
I believe the Apostle's Creed as it clearly states the truth about God, the Father; the Lordship of Jesus Christ and His life, death, and resurrection here on earth; the existence and the work of the Holy Spirit; the place and purpose of the Christian church; the need for forgiveness; and the reality of eternal life.
“I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.”
